History of the University of Denver Bookstore

The DU Bookstore has been owned and operated by the University since its inception. The store moved with the University from lower downtown Denver to the current campus on University Boulevard and Evans Avenue in 1890. The bookstore has occupied space in the Science Hall (1911-1924), the Mary Reed building (1930's), and a structure known as "the hospital" during World War II. In the 1970's the DU Bookstore made it's home in Carnegie Hall, the former DU library. When the Driscoll University Center was completed in 1984, the University of Denver Bookstore moved to its present home.
